The Empire 8 Conference announced that 11 of Elmira College's varsity teams were awarded E8 All-Academic Team status and 71 student-athletes were named to the President's List in recognition of their outstanding work in the classroom.

Dean's List Announced for Spring 2018
The Mississippi College Office of Academic Affairs releases the dean's list after the close of fall and spring semesters each academic year. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average, based on a 4.0 system. The student must take a full course load of at least 12 semester hours of undergraduate credit with all academic courses impacting their grade point average.

UA Students Participate in Summer 2018 Cooperative Education
Nearly 250 University of Alabama students are receiving hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experience with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States through UA's Cooperative Education Program for summer 2018. In the Cooperative Education Program, students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. This program offers work related to the academic major or career interests of each student, experience that enhances the students' employment prospects after graduation. While in school, students carry regular course schedules. While on co-op, they work with professionals in their fields who supervise their training and work. At work, co-op students earn competitive salaries and may receive benefit packages in addition to valuable job experience. Participants maintain their full-time student status while at work and have priority registration status each semester through graduation.

Buffum Earns First-Career AVCA Player of the Week Award
Matthew Buffum '18 of the No. 15-ranked Elmira College men's volleyball team was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week for Division III on March 26. Buffum was also tabbed as both the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) and Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week the day before. The announcement marks just the third time in program history that an EC player garnered this accolade, the most recent being two-time AVCA All-American Erik Griffin '16, who did so on February 23, 2016.
